Candle Maintenance: A Guide to Candle Care

Each Ria Soy candle has been lovingly hand-poured using pure soya wax and essential oil based fragrances to bring you the most natural product possible.  All materials used, from product to packaging is entirely recyclable and locally sourced*. 

We strongly urge you to follow the care and safety precautions outlined below, which have been put in place to ensure that you get the maximum enjoyment and life of your candle.

• Don’t leave the candle burning unattended.

• Don’t burn the candle for longer than 4 hours at each use.

• Always keep the candle out of reach of children and pets.

• Always leave at least 7cm between two burning candles.

• Do not burn candles on or near anything that can catch fire.

• Do not place candles in a draught.

• Trim wick down to 5mm before lighting at each use.

• Don’t burn a candle all the way down. We strongly recommend leaving at least 5mm of wax in the jar.

• Try to avoid blowing the candle out, rather snuff it out if possible.

• Keep the wax pool clear and free of any debris to avoid flaring.

   • Avoid burning your candle for too long, as this can cause the wax to overheat and the wick to become unstable. Overheating can lead to a shorter candle life and potential safety hazards.

   • Never leave a burning candle unattended, as this can cause the wax to spill or the flame to become unstable. Always extinguish the candle if you need to leave the room.

   • Dry the candle jar thoroughly before storing the candle. Moisture can affect the quality of the wax and the candle’s wick.

   • Store your candle in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and heat sources. This helps preserve the integrity of the wax and fragrance.

   • Use a heat-resistant mat or coaster to protect surfaces from heat damage. This prevents any potential damage to your furniture or countertops.

   • Handle your candle with care, as the wax can be fragile and may break if dropped. Gentle handling ensures your candle remains intact and beautiful.
