Blue Tansy Essential oil is a sweet, floral smelling essential oil which is known to be anti-inflammatory, antifungal, and antihistamine.
There is often much confusion between Blue Tansy and plain old Tansy, and if you are thinking of using Blue Tansy, please buy from a reputable seller as anything other than true Blue Tansy essential oil can be toxic when used. Although this originates from a plant bearing yellow flowers, this oil genuinely does turn blue during the distillation process and can stain skin and fabric, so should be used with care and it is recommended that you only use it once diluted with a suitable carrier oil.
Blue Tansy is thought to be a mood-enhancer, so is perfect to add to a blend of oils to diffuse when you want an energy lift or to raise your feelings of positivity. For a natural Self Esteem Boost you could try our blend, which contains Blue Tansy, and comes in a handy 10ml rollerball bottle. Similarly, it can be blended with Lavender in a carrier oil and is a wonderfully soothing massage oil before bed.
Since Blue Tansy contains camphor, it is a great way to soothe and help open up airways, and can be used diluted with water in a facial steamer. Its antihistamine qualities mean that it can help with reducing swelling and itching caused by bites or allergies, and it can be used to ward off insects by diffusing, particularly when blended with Citronella.
This azure coloured essential oil can be helpful for many skin conditions, such as acne, psoriasis and eczema. It should be diluted by adding a couple of drops to your usual cleanser or moisturiser.
Since aromatherapy is a complementary therapy, if you have any concerns about your health or are already taking any medication, it’s always advisable to consult your doctor.
Don’t apply undiluted essential oils to the skin, or ingest the oils. Women who are pregnant, and children, should take the advice of a doctor before using any aromatherapy treatment.
